Last month we asked: Have you yet interacted with a geospatial product or service provider via social media (Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn)? One hundred and twenty five people responded and 3/4 had not. Wow. I guess that’s a good reason for me to keep sharing news from Twitter which some of you might otherwise miss or only see “later.”
Yes! 27%
No 74%
Next up: I need some help determining whether I should include “news” from blogs of geocompanies like Microsoft and Google. Vote on our main page, right hand side.

Back in June, when ESRI announced it was offering trinkets to those who checked in at various venues at the International User Conference, we asked:
Would you plan to participate in ESRI’s Foursquare game (Mayor of the Map Gallery!) at ESRI UC?
42 respondents replied:
55% Wouldn’t be bothered.
27% Foursquare what?
20% I’d be very excited to play!

Back in May we asked: Have you looked at any of the Gulf Oil Spill Maps that include social media content (such as tweets, vidoes, photos, etc.)? Of 157 respondents: 41% said yes and 59% said no.
That’s one measure of our interest in location-based social media. Now for another: Would you plan to participate in ESRI’s Foursquare game (Mayor of the Map Gallery!) at ESRI UC?

A few weeks ago we asked: What’s your favorite way to consume Directions Media conference coverage? Thirty four respondents’ votes break down this way:
50% Many (several dozen) tweets
27% Several to a dozen blog posts
24% One or two long form articles
My gut response is: Why? (please comment!)
Onward! Next poll (one lower right hand side of our main page): Have you looked at any of the Gulf Oil Spill Maps that include social media content (such as tweets, vidoes, photos, etc.)?

Two weeks ago we asked: How often do you look at a list or feed of geospatial press releases? Forty-two people responded.
39% - Never, I depend on the media to tell me about any relevant news.
39% - Daily
20%- Weekly
5% - Monthly
Wow, the even split between “daily” and “never” is certainly interesting. It does however confirm my suspicion that if something really interesting pops up in a PR, I should cite it here in the blog.
Next up: Let’s consider conference coverage preferences. Vote on the APB homepage.
