In mid-February we moved APB from its original home which used open source Serendipity to our new content management system (CMS). That's when the blog got a new look and few other things changed. We had a poll running that I didn't close before that shift. So, here's the final tally:

We asked: When was the last time you tried a new search engine? Seventy-eight people responded:

12% Yesterday.
12% I can't remember.
12% I tried something since Bing.
30% VotesI've only ever used Google.
36% I tried Bing.

Me? I've been using Blekko and find things I really don't find elsewhere!

We asked about your plans regarding Esri Technical Certification back in December. (Registration opened yesterday here.) Of 147 respondents:

34% - I’m not aware of the program
30% - I do not plan to take any of the test
22% - I plan to take one or more of the tests
17% - I’m undecided about taking one or more of the tests

Last month we asked: “Do you read any paper.li publications? (It’s a twitter thing.)” Forty-five readers responded.

0% Yes, regularly.
5% No, I tried but they are a mess.
5% Sometimes.
92% I don’t know of them.

I’m getting the sense many of our readers rely on us to read Twitter on their behalf. That’s fine. That’s among the things editors do! Next up: your plans regarding Esri Technical Certification.

About a month ago we asked: “Will you be commenting on the FGDC’s Geospatial Platform?” Thirty six people responded.

9% Yes!
31% No.
62% I don’t know what you are talking about.

Next up: Do you read any paper.li publications?

About a month ago, when Microsoft announced the food truck app, I asked: “Should APB cover “geo news” from corporate blogs, such as Microsoft’s new Food Truck Map?” The responses from 43 people:

53% Yes, that’s important to me and I would not find it elsewhere.
29% No, don’t bother. It’s not that important and besides, every one else covers it.
20% Google and Microsoft do geospatial?

I really hoped I didn’t need to include such things in this blog, but I will listen to your input and continue to include this sort of “news.” I will not however dwell on these announcements (unless warranted) and you may see just a single sentence and a link.

My read on this: Most readers of this blog are not following the corporate blogs and want me to do so their behalf. Will do!

Next up: When did you last read a corporate white paper? Vote on the right hand side of the main page.
