Profile of Google's Michael Jones

Reuters offers the story which highlights Jones' passion for imagery. It also addresses yet again the "Google censors imagery" issue.

Jones explained that satellite photography is regulated by international treaties and isn't restricted by borders. But he added countries restrict the quality of the images taken by commercial satellite companies, which sell data to Google.

To elaborate on this brief quote: (a) satellite photography is permited by international treaty; (b) nations exert control over the sensors in satellites built and launched within their jurisdiction; (c) commercial satellites are a data source for Google.
