USGS Type Consolidation Closure in India?
The Hindustan Times reports on “Digital mapping work to suffer” highlighting consolidation and closure of the MP Geo-spatial Data Center (MPGDC) in Gwalior by the Survey of India. The discussion is eerily similar to some aspects of the USGS consildation here in the USGS. The India situation is blamed on the move from manual to GPS-based map creation.
