Update: 10 Geo-Orgs Support Imagery for the Nation…But not COGO
Update: MAPPS Executive Director John Palatiello informs me that the action of these ten organizations was made independent of COGO. COGO, he confirmed, has not yet reached agreement on a statement regarding Imagery for the Nation.

I think it’s great that so many have stepped forward to support NSGIC’s vision for a nationwide imagery program. (press release)
I was surprised not see the full endorsement of COGO to which all of these organizations belong. The one member organization of COGO that’s not on this list? The Management Association for Private Photogrammetric Surveyors (MAPPS). Recall that COGO rules basically say that the organization can only act by unanimous agreement: “a. COGO shall undertake legal or advocacy action only through unanimous agreement of all of the Delegates in accordance with its purposes on behalf of the Member Organizations.”
