U.S. Gives Indonesia Grant for NDSI and other Government GIS News
The [Indonesian] Geospatial Information Agency has received a US$ 331, 646 Technical Assistance (TA) grant from the United States Government to further support the country’s National Spatial Data Infrastructure (NSDI) and disaster management initiatives.
Esri is the contractor, as selected by the U.S. government.
In other I believe unrelated NSDI news, the FGDC has cancelled the NSDI Cooperaive Agreement Program grants.
The National Spatial Data Infrastructure (NSDI) Cooperative Agreements Program (CAP) managed by the Federal Geographic Data Committee (FGDC) Office of the Secretariat (OS) will not be soliciting projects in FY2013 or FY2014.
Why? Sequestration. This would have been the 20th year of the grants. Existing ones will continue; no new ones will be solicited.
