Track Your Skiing Via Phone
ThereТs no need for a specialized sports GPS with Skido, a software program for GPS enabled smartphones and PDAs. The program turns the phone into a device for capturing speed, distance and other measurements including altitude for skiers. Are they aware how poorly consumer level GPS is with altitude information? In addition to graphics, the software can apparently УspeakФ data to you. I can barely hear the УbeepsФ of my Garmin Forerunner while running in the city, so I wonder how well one can hear actual words while in motion without earphones? And I have to wonder if IТd want to carry a PDA while skiing. (I donТt ski!)
