Survey for K-12 Teachers, Providers of Geotechnology Training for Teachers

A research project titled ‘Planning for Authentic Learning across the Alliance Network:  Integrating Geospatial Technologies as Teaching Tools for Promoting Geoliteracy’ is underway. There are two parts: one for teachers who do or are interested in using geotech in the classroom and one for providers of geotech training for teachers. And, there are drawings for $100 gift cards.

For Teachers

The purpose of this survey is to examine teacher knowledge, experience, and/or use of geospatial technologie (GIS, GPS, Earth images, and other technologies used to analyze geographic data). This is a part of a National Geographic Education Foundation collaborative grant awarded to the Alliances from South Carolina, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, and Alabama. 

You are asked to complete this survey as a teacher who uses or is interested in using geospatial technologies in your K-12 classroom. The results of this research will be used to support the creation of a geospatial technology-enhanced framework as a means to promote geoliteracy in both the social sciences and Earth sciences. 

For Organizations who Train Teachers in Geotechnology

The purpose of this survey is to understand how teachers are learning geospatial technologies. This is a part of a National Geographic Education Foundation collaborative grant awarded to the Alliances from South Carolina, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, and Alabama.  

You are asked to complete this survey as an individual that trains teacher in geospatial technologies. The results of this research will be used to create a geospatial technology-enhanced framework as a means to promote geoliteracy in both the social sciences and Earth science.  Relative to this survey, we define geospatial technologies as including GIS, GPS, images, and other technologies used to analyze geographic data. This survey will take approximately 10-15 minutes.
