Sun Supports Student Programmers

Sun CEO Scott McNealy last week announced new programs to insure todayТs students have what it takes to develop on his companyТs platforms. Sun will make Solaris software development tools and training programs available, offer collaboration through the existing Sun Developer Network, and providing special offers for third party discounts. Speaking at the Sun Education Conference he also highlighted the hot and non-hot in education. The not hot include: textbooks, overcrowded classrooms, proprietary software stacks. On the hot list: Web-based training, online classes and open source projects.
