Prisoner with ESRI Software Knowledge Wants Job Advice
A letter to a computer Q and A column in the San Francisco Chronicle is from a California state prisoner. He’s asking how his skills in GIS, including ESRI software learned in prison, might be transferable for a job when he gets out. The columnist asks for reader help.
Now, there are several viewpoints on prison industries and I don’t want to go there (but I’m sure some will). What’s interesting to me is that prisons are not telling their students about the job opportunities in this field or about the Department of Labor report. Or, is that beyond the scope of prison?
