Pilots Warned about Apple Maps and other LBS News
Pilots could be misled into trying to make an emergency landing in a farm because of an error on a new Apple map tool, [Irish] Justice Minister Alan Shatter has said.
I find it hard to believe a pilot would use an iPhone and its free mapping software to find a landing spot. Apparently an airport symbol is located over a working farm on the new Apple Maps product. The minister is contacting Apple on the matter.
Mobile retail navigation service provider aisle411 today announced that it has acquired the indoor positioning technology assets and certain patents pending of geo-location company WiLocate. The move is meant to expand aisle411′s existing in-store search and navigation offerings. Terms for the deal were not disclosed.
Opera has just launched the latest version of its mobile browser. Opera Mini for Android 7.5 brings a few new touches, including a socially focused Smart Page.
The Smart Page includes a social tab, a news section, and a selection of links curated based on your location.
