NSGIC 05 – Nearly 50 States
NSGIC is the organization built around the “soon to exist” 50 state GIS coordinators. This year 45 states are in attendance (not all have official coordinators) at the annual meeting here in Rochester. 49 contributed “state summaries” which will appear online soon on the NSGIC website. Check this out, just like you do the News from Every State in USA Today! Two statistics: 39 states note funding as a limitation, 26 note the position of GIS within the state organization as a limitation. Along with the state delegates are federal, state, local, tribal and private players, totaling about 310 attendees.
