NGA Director Letitia Long: Hi Res Satellite Approval for DigitalGlobe Coming

National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency Director Letitia Long says the government will ok DigitalGlobe's request to sell higher resolution imagery (25 cm). "It's going to happen. Technology is moving in that direction." She spoke at the annual space conference hosted by the Space Foundation.

The decision requires input from Pentagon, Commerce Department, State Department and other agencies, so she had no input on the "when." A second senior U.S. official involved in the coordination process confirmed that it will happen. Consensus is it'll be phased in over the next year.
