New Pennsylvania Game Map and other Government GIS News

The Game Commission has launched on its website a new Mapping Center that will help users to locate state game lands and other hunting grounds, view topography and aerial photos for tracts, and even find a place to park when they arrive.

The ArcGIS for Flex app was built by Geodecisions. One question: Why is "search" on the far right of the tools instead of far left? I'd think it'd be the most used.

The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) yesterday in Lagos launched a geographic information system (GIS) mapping of all financial access points in Nigeria.

The GIS special mapping for financial access point is developed by the CBN in collaboration with the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.

GIS technology has been available for several years. Larger cities and other government entities are commonly using the systems. While it isn't surprising to see GIS systems being used in Marshalltown, Waterloo, or Cedar Rapids, there's a recognition that Tama [IA] is on the "cutting edge" for cities of its size.
