Connect Minnesota launched its broadband app, BroadbandStat. It’s ESRI Flex and I can imagine it appearing overwhelming to many visitors. Those visitors are encouraged to have broadband to look at it since it has so much data.

The online Oregon Forest Atlas 2010 includes data obtained from several sources, including the U.S. Forest Service’s Pacific Northwest Research Station, Oregon State University and the Oregon Department of Forestry. It’s a series of static maps.

- My Central Oregon

Kayak, the travel site, launched Kayak Explore, a map-based tool to find flights with limited parameters (price, hours) as well as hotels. It’s based on Google Maps.

- Tnooz

Engineers at the state’s flood center at the University of Iowa developed flood modeling maps built on Google Maps to help the public plan for and understand floods. I could not figure out how to use them, nor did I find any “help” options (but that could be because I’m on Safari on a Mac).

Hong Kong has a new online courtesy of the Lands Department; it’s called Geo Info Map.
