New Census Director Already Talking Public-Private Partnerships
U.S. Census Bureau Director John Thompson was sworn in last August and just visited rapidly growing North Dakota to begin thinking about the next big count. \
In what may be news to geospatial company ears, he's already talking about public private partnerships.
Thompson said the Census Bureau is considering creating public-private partnerships with geospatial mapping companies in order to create a more accurate count in 2020. On Monday he visited with officials from Fargo-based geospatial mapping company HERE.
And, while HERE has a production office in Fargo, U.S. HQ is in Chicago.
