Louisiana Bill Would Add Jail Time to Crimes with Supporting Virtual Maps

The state House voted 89-0, to approve Senate Bill 151 by Sen. Robert Adley, R-Benton. That sends the measure back to the Senate for approval of several house amendments.

The bill “defines a virtual street-level map as one that is available on the Internet and can generate the location or picture of a home or building by entering the address of the structure or an individual’s name on a website.”

If such a map is used in an act of terrorism, the bill would add 10 years to the sentence. If its used in a crime such as burglary, one year would be added to the sentence.
