Update: Local (City/County/State) GIS Tidbits - 6/9/11

The Clay County GIS is up and running. It's built on ArcGIS Server, uses flash, with the latest interface from 39 Degrees North. No mention in the latest article about the freebie deal. But a look at the company website suggests it's open to all.

In Clay County, IN, the commissioners ok'd a deal for a free two month trial of a GIS from 39 Degrees North, LLC. The local paper called it a "Geographical Interface System (GIS)." Payment seems to be optional, but if the county selects the system, there's a "one-time fee of $7,000 to start up the programming." The county currently is under contract with WTH Technology, Inc.

Clarkstown, part of Rockland County, NY wants to take back updating its zoning maps. The county had managed such things for five years, but now with its own GIS staff, Clarkstown wants that responsibility.

In a very brief meeting Tuesday, the Jasper County Board of Supervisors [IA] gave approval to an exchange of digital data agreement with CoreLogic Information Solutions of Sunrise, Fla. ...CoreLogic will pay Jasper County 10 cents per parcel for the information, for a total of $2,982.10.
