LAPD and its Muslim Map
No doubt you heard about this before reading about it here . (I heard in on NPR Friday night.)
The LA Police Department wants to map Muslim communities saying it a way to better get to know them and as “a step toward thwarting radicalization.” American Civil Liberties Union and several Muslim organizations are not comfortable, and draw analogies to previous U.S. government efforts that created interment camps and chased alleged communists. A meeting is set for Thursday to meet with the city police officials to explore what’s gone on thus far.
