The UP government is set to undertake the GIS mapping of the road network in the state. The Public Works Department has already completed a pilot project of about 1/4 of the roads.

The Ministry for Regional Development (MMR) today unveiled new residential rent pricing maps based on district and building category. While the

ministry stresses that the maps are for referential purposes only, some property experts says important details have been omitted and an opportunity missed to create a more purposeful — and accurate — evaluation system.

Among the concerns: real estate agents not landlords provided the data.

Seoul, the capital of South Korea, has upgraded the city GIS portal to better support the growing number of foreign tourists and students in the bustling metropolis. ... The upgraded  portal system now boasts of multi-lingual location-based services available in Korean, English, Japanese, and Chinese languages which would provide information on 19 cultural sites, walking tour programs in Seoul, and video streams of the city’s many tourist attractions.

Singapore

The Singapore Land Authority (SLA) is launching the annual SLA Spatial Challenge, to encourage students to learn about and use GIS.

“SLA is spearheading a whole-of-government initiative “SG-SPACE” (Singapore Geospatial Collaborative Environment) to create an environment to facilitate the sharing and use of geospatial information among the public agencies, business and communities for better decision making,” Ng Siau Yong, Director of SLA Geospatial Division said.
