Lots of funding, espeically for students from developing/emerging countries from Germany's Institute for Geoinformatics:
The Institute for Geoinformatics has just sent out the new call for applications for the Graduate School for Geoinformatics for summer semester 2014. The call is for
- applications with “open topics”, not accompanying the scholarships and
- applications for three specific topics funded by the DAAD. The DAAD also fund 2 full PhD scholarships for non-Germans.

The ICA-OSGeo Lab Network and MundoGEO are now pleased to inform the schedule of "Open Geospatial Science & Applications" webinar series. This first webinar will address the theme "OSGeo Live for Education". With free registration, this event is appropriate for all the interested in knowing more about the ICA-OSGeo Lab Network and its education activities. The speaker will be Jeremy Morley, University of Nottingham. Attendees will be able to interact with the speakers by sending their comments and questions through chat. All attendees of this web seminar will receive certificates for their participation.

The Saudi Arabian Boy Scouts Association (SABSA) has published three maps of the holy places, in eight colors pointing to Tawafah locations, Haj campaigns and general services centers, the Saudi Press Agency reported.
Blue is for South East Asian pilgrims, red is for Turkish and European, North American and Australian pilgrims, green is for Iranian pilgrims, brown is for non-Arab African pilgrims, yellow is for South Asian pilgrims, purple is for Gulf countries and violet is for local pilgrims.
