Hexagon on Geo-related Acquisition Spree
On Oct 8, 2013 Hexagon announced the acquistion of Sweden's Airborne Hydrography AB (AHAB), a provider of airborne laser survey systems for hydrographic and topographic surveys.
Founded in 2002 and based in Jönköping, Sweden, AHAB serves international survey companies and governmental organizations around the world, with hydrographic and topographic software and systems to map land, coastal zones and seafloors. Their product portfolio includes airborne bathymetric LiDAR technology, which provides the equivalent of above-water topographic maps, enabling underwater objects to be detected and deep and shallow waters and coastal zones to be mapped and monitored.
And on Oct 14 the company announced an offer of 28 NOK per share ($154 mil) of Scotland's Veripos Inc. a 28% premium over the stock's last price on the Oslo Exchange. The company products and software for precise point positioning and navigation solutions (GPS, GLONASS, etc.).
