Hackers Share GeoStalking Findings at HOPE

Ben Jackson and Paul Vet presented research at the Hackers On Planet Earth (HOPE) conference in New York on Friday and Saturday “aimed at demonstrating just how easy it is to track unwitting Twitterers using just a few pieces of metadata attached to their tweets or online photos.” This is another sort of PleaseRobMyHouse.com set of efforts, but as Vet notes: “I’m just one student that threw this together. Organizations like marketers and governments must be doing the same thing on a much larger scale.”
