Google’s Page Argues Data Retention Needed to Save Lives

At a Google event in Hertfordshire, England he used the recent H1N1 flu outbreak to argue that the company needed to store search data of individuals for more than six months. If not, he demonstrated, the company would not have foreseen the pandemic.

“Mr Page said the less data companies like Google were able to hold the ‘more likely we all are to die.’”
