Geo Social Media Contest Mania
This week Intergraph and ESRI both announced “social media” contests.
Intergraph: “Just for signing up, you could WIN a complimentary full-conference registration to Intergraph 2010, our annual users conference to be held this year in Nashville, Tennessee, USA, June 14-17” ... “simply sign up for at least one of the official Intergraph-managed social media platforms…” including Linked-In, Facebook, Twitter.
ESRI: “Analyzing Volunteered Geographic Information” is “a social media challenge open to all students attending AAG Annual Meeting in Washington, D.C. All those participating in Phase 1 will receive an ESRI coffee mug, and approximately 20 students with winning entries in Phase 2 will receive $20,000 in cash prizes, ranging from $500 to $5,000 per award.” It’s basically a two part effort: data creation in part one, data analysis in part two. Preliminary results will be shared on Friday at the event and participants must visit ESRI (booth 702) or this website to register for the challenge.
