ESRI’s ToastMappers
The Redlands Daily Facts profiles the ESRI chapter of Toastmasters, called ToastMappers, a group aimed at better public speaking. ESRI staffers are asked to speak in public quite a bit, both in-house and at conferences and shows. For those who never picked up the skill by osmosis (or by being tossed into a pond - I learned to speak during my few years in higher education) this is a great option.
I’ll also toss in that at least one Masters in GIS program has a speaking requirement for graduation. I hope they all do or will soon.
