Esri’s Governor Geringer to Serve as Education Startup Vice Chair
The Digital Learning Institute known as DigiLEARN is a new non-profit education organization founded and chaired by former North Carolina Governor Bev Perdue. Former Wyoming Governor and Esri employee Jim Geringer will serve as vice chair.
DigiLEARN will be dedicated to accelerating digital learning for all ages with a goal of increasing personal learning options for students and expanding instructional opportunities for teachers and instructors. In addition, DigiLEARN will focus on cultivating an innovative economy for education technology start-ups and entrepreneurs with accountability for improved learning results.
Both of the former governors have a passion for education. Perdue launched the North Carolina Virtual Public School and Geringer helped found and serves as chair of the Board of Trustees for Western Governors University.
