Denver Testing out Indoor 911 for Free

Wireless Werx provides Bluetooth technology that provides room-level location information when 911 calls are made. The hitch - the buildings must be prewired and mapped for the operators to receive the more detailed data and see the building plan. And, of course, the phones need the “app” to communicate with the sensors in the building. Still with more than 60% of Denver 911 calls coming from cell phones, it could be a boon. No doubt a number of technologies like this will battle it out for while - with hopefully some standard developing.
