Dell CEO Pushing Value of Location Determination on Netbooks
Alan Sicher, Wireless product marketing manager at Dell, spoke at the Location Business Summit in Amsterdam this week. Among his pitches:t he case for location-based services on notebooks and netbooks.
“There will be about 35 million netbooks sold this year. These devices are used outside home and workplace, so there is an obvious need for location.” Maybe, but won’t all those folks also have GPS enabled smartphones in their pockets? (Just sayin’...)
