Autodesk Vice president of Learning and Education a Familiar Face

Autodesk put out a PR today noting new resoures for education (architecture, design, engineering and digital entertainment). In it, the VP of Learning and Education, Joe Astroth, is quoted:

Our commitment to education among the architecture, design, engineering and digital entertainment fields has gained momentum with our newest curricula and expanded access to our Education Suites. Our goal is for faculty to gain the educational resources and technical expertise they need to help students prepare for successful careers. We believe these offerings make a substantial impact.

Astroth led Autodesk’s geospatial and location-based services businesses earlier in his career. He has a PhD in geography.

My students at Penn State take advantage of Autodesk’s student access to software.
