Analyst: Google Maps to Power Yahoo Maps
The suggestion is from Trip Chowdhry, who noted it in a communication to his clients. That document does not seem to be public. There are so many errors in the IB Times article discussing the note, errors I fear are from the original note, I am very skeptical. The article suggests the change "could reduce its [Yahoo's] operating costs by about 2 percent to 5 percent." Chowdhry is an analyst at Global Equities Research.
This same fellow made the same suggestion in 2009 after some Yahoo layoffs (APB coverage)!
