More than one geographer has suggested that the killer location-based service is traffic information. But, even in 2005 the services that provide it via cell phone are less than acceptable, according to Mike Langberg
writing in the
Mercury News. The services are slow, poorly symbolized and force drivers to take their eyes off the road. Far better, he suggests, is to wait for the radio traffic report or to call 511 offered by some cities. He, like me, is confident this will be a valuable service Ц itТs just not there yet.
