Just like its neighbor to the south, Canada is exploring regulation for it commercial remote sensing industry. The
legislation, co-sponsored by four Canadian ministries will encourage the commercial remote sensing and allow for Уshutter control,Ф government oversight of what can be captured, how and to whom it can be sold. The bill, УC-25: An Act Governing the Operation of Remote Sensing Space Systems,Ф was introduced in the Canadian House of Commons last November and received its first hearing before the Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and International Trade Feb. 1. Radarsat-2 will be the first commercially owned but federally funded satellite in Canada.
