Update on Autodesk 2006 Rollout and Embargo Situation
Autodesk continued its plans to roll out the latest version of AutoCAD, AutoCAD 2006 today. Last week information on the product began to leak out in a controlled, but "unapproved by management" sort of way. A letter to the press explained the situation. It's unlikely the early distribution of information will have any impact on what's considered a strong, if not "gotta have it" release. And, clearly Autodesk hopes the episode wonТt impact its relationship with the press or the blogger community.
You can read the six releases from the company here. There are many others from partners stating their add-ons support the new release. Autodesk also updated its website for the rollout and new branding campaign.

As I noted earlier in the week, there were some odd posts to a variety of fora by someone working with Tele Atlas, trying to create buzz around a new developer program. I planned to leave it be until I received an e-mail from a free Yahoo account sugge
