OMG! Map Usability Test!

This is for users, not mapgeeks...

Props to Greater [second "Greater" added per comment] Greater Washington for putting together a test to measure if the new WMATA (Metro) bus map is better than the old one.

That's Greater Greater Washington.

At first blush, you'd think switching from color-coded lines that match the color-coded routes to a one-color-for-all presentation is a mystifying step backwards.

But when you consider visually impaired users, I'll bet a good number of the multi-colored lines might have been invisible.

So you end up with a set of red lines. Which look green to some folks, but at least they're consistent.

Hard to make maps 508 compliant...
