Time Magazine's Top 50 Inventions for 2009 Lacking in Location Intelligent Design

Time Magazine's Top 50 Invention's list for 2009 seems to lack a entry that was at least location-aware. Unless you count the "Smart Bullet" or "Teleportation" there are no inventions that leveraged location technology or data. Even those reach a little far. Seems odd given what seems to be a busy community of developers and entrepreneurs using location-based technology. What's your take? Check out the five worst inventions, too.

No doubt 'we' feel there have been some great inventions, but we are familiar with the details. 'We' likely aren't aware of any dramatic watch inventions from this year but I bet there are some watch makers that would disagree. We in a sense are watch makers.

We are familiar with the parts and pieces required to calculate the storm path, communities impacted, and tomorrows forecast. That is not to innovative to 99.9% of the population. They just expect it. I believe that is a good thing.

The Planetary Skin (ranked at #17) seems to be a good use of geospatial tech that is certainly location aware.

What's your feeling about commercial organizations that participate in kind or cash support to help in disasters and publicize those efforts?
No issues; it's good for the planet and good business.
It's ok, but does make me wonder about their motives.
It's pure marketing, and bothers me.
Have no strong feeling.
