TomTom Announces Job Cuts

Geospatial Business

TomTom announced cuts of 7% or 115 staff members. The news comes after a resetting of expectations earlier this week. Tele Atlas will have no additional cuts now; 125 position cuts were announced late last year.

Hello Adena,

Considering that there is already sufficient angst regarding the pace at which this economic recession is progressing, do we really need to fan the flames? If one take a look at the EETimes article and the TomTom website, one will see that the reductions announced are exclusive of Tele Atlas. While the paragraph makes this clear, the headline does not. Please consider revising the headline to be factually and gramatically correct, lest the headline become a self-fulfilling prophesy.

I was employed at Tele Atlas and was laid off on Jan 7th, what do you mean exclusive of Tele Atlas???

Yes that headline was misleading and has been updated. I did not mean to fan any flames. My apologies.
