Tele Atlas Cuts 6% of Staff

Geospatial Business

Details are sketchy about where and when the 125 individuals will be let go (or have been), but the news was out in Lebanon, NH yesterday, where 500 people are employed at what was GDT headquarters.

Curious it's taken so long for a downsizing after the acquisition. Tough these things frequently occur right before the holiday season, but that's also part of the end-of-year busines review and planning processes.

The European owners are unlikely to cut at their HQ when the more liberal severance laws in the US will allow them to slice without major long-term severance penalty to their bottom line. If you're in NH, better brace yourself.
