Track US Election Results with Google Maps


You can track the election results in real-time for the presidential, senate or house elections...or if you are reading this after the fact...see the results.

The quality of election mapping produced by the New York Times continues to be among the best: http://elections.nytimes.com/2008/results/president/map.html

While these maps by Google are a nice ways to drill down and discover a specific piece of data at the MCD (municipal) level, the NYT site enables viewers to find meaning more easily. Between voting shifts, 5 elections worth of stats on the time slider, and the % margin of victory, I have spent far longer at this site trying to get a taste of what happened across the thousands of counties that make up our union.

Technically, the Flash-based user interface continued to be a superior platform for such efforts.

More me it is hard enough to follow the elections. The mapping was very good for the survey. I agree with Tim
