MERL Multi-touch Table Tech Licensed

Circle Twelve, a company that focusses on collaboration will support existing users and manufacture and distribute the tables, which have the special feature of supporting multiple "touchers" and keeping track of them. After seeing the table a few years ago, I thought it had an edge on some of the "single user" offerings, especially for geospatial collaboration.

Indeed Adena, your blogging does inspire action...shortly after your 2004 GISMonitor piece we picked up the pace of discussions with MERL. We bought tables, entered into a strategic relationship and jointly developed tools for multi-touch collaborative work within AEC/geospatial workflows. DiamondTouch is an exceptionally useful tool to support small group tasks. Now that DT has been spun out from the research lab for commercialization under the capable leadership of Adam Bogue, implementations will accelerate. With MS Surface and other systems coming into the market, 2008 is the year tabletop computing becomes real.
