India Planning its own "Google Earth"

Remote Sensing

It won't include sensitive areas, but the new service built on the country's own imagery is expected in 6 months. ISRO chairman G Madhavan Nair made the announcement.

I hope they're not planning their own viewer. There are plenty of other GIS thin clients out there that can do more than just view aerial photography. India should be planning its own "Google Maps" with the high-res imagery.
