Researchers at Johns Hopkins' Bloomberg School of Public Health, in conjunction with others at CIESEN (Columbia University), Lehman College, and the City University of New York (CUNY) have released a
report, using GIS, to show that 3.2 million Burmese where affected by Cyclone Nargis.
Maps created for the report show the results of calculations that determined the likely distribution of the population that were affected by the cyclone. "We estimate that 20 percent of the population in the four affected administrative divisions could be affected by Cyclone Nargis,” said
