Wasn't enough to have GIS "neotards" throwing brickbats at GIS "paleotards" - we have the same going on in the CAD community as well?

Just another cycle in the course of evolution. For the old pharts... er, people like me, who have actually computed coordinates by hand, used a Leroy set to do lettering and so on, it's just the next "new new", to push the old new onto the old stack, in a long line of revolutions.

The question is, what does it do to the business models, and to what extent does the new prove its longterm viability and sustainability, and to what extent does the old adapt to keep up with the changes - or die out?

Daniel, I think the idea is to continually adapt and keep learning instead of becoming complacent.

Also, there is limited value in the schools, as they tend to lag behind as well - hopefully they teach a solid foundation rather than focusing on the latest technology fads.
