Garmin Overtakes TomTom in Worldwide GPS Sales

With two years on top and much good press on its planned acquisition of Tele Atlas, comes news from Canalys that Garmin is now on top, but by just a few percentage points. Garmin strong sales in the U.S., where it's #1 had a lot to do with it.


Garmin worldwide shipments for all types of portable navigation totaled 1.85 million units compared with TomTom's 1.81 million units.

I can only congratulate Garmin that it became the number one in worldwide shipments for all types of portable navigation
