Bogus Traffic/Weather Sent to Car Nav Systems

IDG notes that employees of Inverse Path have found ways to send fake traffice and weather alerts to some in-car nav systems. The fake message can warn of such things as "bull fight ahead" and the like. The messages travel via Radio Data System (RDS) a standard used in Europe and the U.S. The results were presented at a security conference in Vancouver. This was an effective marketing stunt...
