Google's Vice President of Niantic Labs John Hanke presented a talk at Dice Summit, a gaming event, about its game Ingress (APB coverage). The news of note to game developers:

Google will be working with a select group of developers in 2014 to build games using geographic data culled from Ingress, with a full API expected to release to the public in 2015.

Graduates

The Central Connecticut State University Departments of Continuing Education and Geography recently graduated the second class of students from its Geographic Information Science Certificate Program. There were four grads.
