"Stop Yorktown Pub is not on this street. Go to 540 Water Street in Yorktown."
Text of a sign the Yorktown Pub's owner paid to have built and installed to direct potential patrons away from a residential area to the establishment. SatNav's have some wrong information in the area in Virginia.

Victor Valley College (California) student Logan Lehman, 19, of Hesperia, helped develop a successful app for iPhone and Android though he had no GIS experience at all before this spring. The app took second place in Esri's mobile app development competition (results) and now Lehman has several job prospects.
How did he get that far? Not through a GIS program it seems (though the school has a GIS certificate), but a basic computer programming course.
The opportunity: A volunteer project developing a mobile app for the Mojave Desert Ecosystem Program, a federally funded effort to help government agencies collaborate in managing public desert lands. MDEP Program Manager Fon Allan Duke, an adjunct professor at VVC, told Lehman they had wanted to roll out a smartphone app on public recreation but lacked the resources to make it happen.
