It seems to have started in July and is called The Intergraph Connect Blog. There are also blogs that seem older for Power Process and Marine (PPM) called GetSmart! and CadWorx and Analysis Solutions called the Insider Blog They. all use different platforms and look different. I found the corporate one by accident via Twitter.

The City of Asheville, NC added to its online GIS who owns which roads in the city, making it that much easier for residents to get repair work done.
To see the mapAsheville’s new application, go to www.ashevillenc.gov/mapasheville and click on the “Standard GIS” link. Then, in the map criteria column on the left side of the page, select “Maintenance Responsibility,” and zoom in to the desired location. Clicking the “+” sign will show the map’s color-coded key. A “Simple Search” from the mapAsheville main site will also allow for address-specific searches.
I think in my city we call 311 and they determine who to call on our behalf.

US company Location Based Intelligence has licensed the engine of a research project from Hebrew University to use “as an objective means to help with the evaluation of patients with spinal cord injuries. Questionnaires and an interview before and after surgery are not really objective tools, says [Dr. Noam] Shoval, whereas the GPS/engine tool from HU could provide a lot more than a patient might reveal. It shows details such as whether a person is driving or walking, how long they do it for and at what speed. It can monitor the physical behavior of a person following an operation or tell a doctor how well a prosthetic limb is performing.”

According to a study published in the Medical Journal of Australia general practitioners (GPs) who share space with with pathology companies do not appear to influence the volume of tests they order. While in over percentages orders for tests at co-located ted facilities are slightly higher, when for other factors that influence test ordering, such as doctors’ age and practice size are correctly for, the differences disappear. Still, study co-author Prof David Studdert, from the School of Population Health at the University of Melbourne, can’t explain why test ordering rates are 10% higher in Melbourne than in Sydney.
