The RFP was out and many responses tendered. Then government agents determined there was a technical error in the documents. Well, it seems Foursquare Day‘s PR was not so buzzy, at least among readers of this blog. I posted the poll on Wednesday about the event set for Friday, 4/16 (4/16 - get it? 4 squared = 16). Almost none of the 22 readers who responded had heard about it.
Are you aware that Friday is Foursquare Day?
5% Yes, of course!
96% No, not heard that.
It does seem odd to me that a company that’s a media darling didn’t get more buzz on this. Perhaps the day before, Tax Day, overshadowed it? For an explanation of it, try this one from The Christian Science Monitor.
Anyway, let’s move along and talk about something we all love to hate: press releases. Please let us know how often you look at a list of press releases related to geospatial. Vote on the right hand side of our main page.
