San Francisco State’s department of geography and human environmental studies is launching a new masters program in geographic information sciences (GIS) this fall - the only one of its kind in the Bay Area.

Auburn University-Montgomery’s Center for Government is computer-mapping one school in each of the state’s 133 school systems with Google Earth.
The project is a partnership between the state Department of Homeland Security, the state Department of Education, the Alabama Criminal Justice Application Center and the Super Computer Authority.
And if I follow correctly the data and some grant funded surveillance cameras in schools will be accessible via Virtual Alabama.
UT Dallas now offers a GEOINT Certificate. It’s the fourth institution accredited by USGIF to do so.
Students from SUNY at Buffalo helping identify structures razed in the Haiti earthquake using imagery from a variety of sources. Researchers from there and nearby RIT helped populate the Virtual Disaster Viewer, a collection of imagery and basemap for the international response community.
